The Olympic golf organizing committee has done us Oglympian fans a big favor by putting the trio of Brooke Henderson (Canada), Suzann Pettersen (Norway) and, Lexi Thompson (USA) together for the opening two rounds of the inaugural women’s golf tournament in the Olympics.
Brooke Henderson is an 5’4″ 18 year old LPGA Tour professional golfer from Smiths Falls, Ontario, Canada. She was the Canadian Presses female athlete of the year as a 17 year old in 2015 when she was a breakout star on the LPGA Tour. This past June she won the LPGA championship, claiming her first major and moving to #2 in the World Rankings.
Suzann Pettersen is a 35 year old 5’8″ 150lb LPGA and European Tour professional golfer from Oslo, Norway. She’s won 15 times on the LPGA Tour and 7 times on the European Tour with two majors to her credit, the 2007 Women’s PGA Championship and the 2013 Evian Championship.

Alexis “Lexi” Thompson is a 21 year old 6′ 159lb American professional golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour. At age 12, she was the youngest golfer ever to qualify to play in the U.S. Women’s Open. She turned professional in June 2010 at age 15. She has 7 wins on the LPGA tour including one major, the ANA Inspiration in 2014

The trio are set to be the final threesome in today’s second round of the Olympic tournament teeing off at 10:09 am EDT. Lexi is very much in contention tied for 7th three back at 3 under. Brooke Henderson is 19th two back of Lexi at -1. Suzann Pettersen is tied for 26th at +1.
