Therese Johaug – Norway – Cross Country Skiing
Therese Johaug has already claimed a gold for Norway in the 4x5km relay and, as a Norweigan, she will be one of the favorites to possibly medal in today’s 30 km mass start. She also has a fifth place finish in the 15 km pursuit.
Chemmy Alcott – Great Britain – Alpine Skiing
Chemmy Alcott competed in all five major Alpine events in Vancouver. Her final appearance was Friday in the Slalom event where she recorded a DNF. Still she’s a medal winner in our Oglympics competition.
Monique and Jocelyne Lamoureux – USA – Ice Hockey
The USA’s ice hockey playing twins, Monique and Jocelyne Lamoureux from Grand Forks North Dakota, earned silver medals yesterday when Team USA lost 2-0 to the Canadians.
Allison Baver – USA – Speedskating
US short track speedskater, and fellow PSU alum, Allison Baver, captured a bronze medal by skating a leg in the women’s 3,000-meter relay on Wednesday night.
Kiira Korpi – Finland – Figure Skating
Kiira Korpi is a gorgeous 21 year old figure skater from Finland with Grace Kelly like looks. Unfortunately, she’s not quite good enough to crack into the top ten in the world which means NBC won’t find time for her. So you’re just going to have to rely on me to bring her to you.
Ashleigh McIvor – Canada – Freestyle Skiing
Ashleigh won Olympic Gold today in the first ever women’s Olympic ski cross. Best of all she’s a hometown girl having been born in Vancouver and living in Whistler.
Bree Schaaf – USA – Bobsled
Bree Schaaf is a 29 year old slider from Bremerton OR who made a shift from the skeleton to the bobsled in 2007 and has rapidly climbed the bobsledding success ladder.
